So in 2003 i should have gotten rid of High Chapparal, islington and six perfections?

Great point, ignore the Euros at your own risk IMO.

ateamstupid 10-23-2008 10:58 PM

Ah, nothing like irrational, poorly thought out blanket commandments for an extremely nuanced 16-race event. At least he'll be gone until Derby time.

hockey2315 10-23-2008 11:49 PM

I can't believe anyone thinks this horse can hit the board. . . I don't really see a horse in here he should beat.

Smooth Air won't come in last...I'll bet on that if anybody wants some. :D

It's impossible for horses to breakdown on synthetics so you can't count on that to get him home second to last.

That's true, but does Desoremore have a mount he could pull up?

Fortunately not. Two mounts in nine BC races on Saturday, hilarious.

SniperSB23 10-24-2008 12:51 AM

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I came on here tonight solely for this thread and Seattleallstar's BC Friday selections.

docicu3 10-24-2008 01:09 AM

Daytona....Daytona....Daytona!!!

Honorable mention to Delightful Kiss should above scratch...

Am I missing something in the Juvy? Doesn't Bushranger crush these if he takes to the surface?

Pure sprinter, so much so that they aren't even booking future prices on him next year in Europe for the Classics. That being said, he is my pick. There is no pace here and if it turns into a 4 furlong jog followed by a 4.5 furlong sprint he should crush this field.

I still haven't settled on anyone, yet. But I'm still looking forward to being there Friday morning.

I have to admit it will be a guess on the "dirt" races. However, we still have all the great turf races to bet. When they change that to "Astro-turf," that's when I'll give up handicapping. :wf (not really) :D

My best friends dad died the night before BC day, the year that Skip Away won the Classic....He wasnt going to go to the races, but i urged him to go.
We hit the pik 6 that day...
I guess we had a little help from above.

That group of Euros was so much better than the group coming over for the turf races this year, it's not even funny.

This is nuts,,,,,,,,,,,,,, putting Cal based horses against the world because of the 90'/52' weather, over Class and Ability???????????????

I love pari-mutual wagering.

yea all you have to do is go back to the last BC at Santa Anita when is was even hotter. The Euros stunk up the place. Arcangues and Kotashan come to mind.

you mean 2003 when it was 102 degrees and europe swept the turf events (including a dead heat?)

slotdirt 10-24-2008 08:15 AM

Yeah, Kotashaan really hated that SoCal turf.

PPerfectfan 10-24-2008 08:16 AM

Pleasantly Perfect in the Classic.....oh wait that was another BC! :D

I really liked him, but I have been getting negative comments about him right and left. I would think that he could crush this field.

Kotashaan was actuallly based in So Cal the year he won the BC Turf at Santa Anita.

It's not really debatable that Mauralakana had a significantly worse trip than Dynaforce in the Flower Bowl. Why wouldn't Dynaforce have "accelerated away" from Mauralakana? Soft course or no, that was Dynaforce's best chance to beat Mauralakana, and she took advantage. Good for her, but I don't see a remotely similar setup materializing in this race.

I watched the replay of The Mauralakana/Dynaforce 1st match up and she really ran a good race coming off a layoff and 1st time in NA. That race if anything will force me to take her today just because I believe she will be the forgotten horse or the one that seems to have the footing/trip questions of the contenders. I'll try her(Dynaforce) with some confidence today, I think she fits in here.

Thats a good way to lose money

I genuinely think folks ten to over-think days like today and tomorrow. It's too hot for Euros, the turf is too firm, etc. Just go with class and forget the voodoo, that's my advice.

i think the two year old races offer the best chances at value. You have many horses that are very similar class and ability wise, but some are offering very nice ml odds. If you can find a horse or horses you like, you will be able to make some money.

I will be at Santa Anita today and I have doped the races just like a normal day and it looks like a chalky day in the breeders cup races, but I'm driving a Honda.:D

Distance looks like more of a question to me. If he gets it, he wins.

Im really hoping she gets overlooked from that outside post. I trust Coa to work out a trip. I think she will stretch out fine (decent Tomi # for the distance if you use those) and she will hopefully be 8-10 times the price that Stardom Bound will be.

knickslions2 10-24-2008 09:57 AM

Well Armed

skippy3481 10-24-2008 10:28 AM

i hope too, i just think there are some very big prices that are not any worse then the top 3 in several of the races. With all the dead money in the pools, its a great day to take some shots.
