My single is Cocoa Beach, still working on my toss list.

Sorry Miss Stormcat, I'll wait till I see the toteboard to answer that one.

One thing I will say as I posted about 6+ months ago and then 2 months ago my automatic toss will be Midnight Lute. I know he's reportedly training well... again, however given all of his problems he's a horse I can live with if he beats me a short odds.

Of horses that will probably take some money, I think Intangaroo is a toss in the Filly and Mare Sprint. She appears to be much better on the dirt than synthetics, and if the race sets up well for her in terms of pace, it will also set up well for Ventura, who I like a lot more.

I would not be stunned to see Ventura hit the board, but I would be stunned if Ventura won. That horse is gutless. Easily the toss of the 2 day card for me.

1 each thus far......

Lock-Zenyatta
Toss-Pyro(Though they did the smart thing staying away from the classic)

I know this is the conventional wisdom, but I don't really understand how anybody that watched the Spinster could think Zenyatta is a lock. She is the most likely winner to be sure, but McGaughey's mare seems like she loves two-turns on the synthetic.

SCUDSBROTHER 10-22-2008 07:30 PM

If I had a single it would be Midnight Lute(I have 75% of my money on him.) I have cover bets. So, it's not considered a real single.

M LUTE(8/1)+ KIP DEVILLE(7/1)= 71-1
M LUTE+ W'THESCRIPT(10/1)= 98-1
M LUTE+ GOLDIKOVA(9/2)= 48.5-1

Covers:

STREET BOSS(7/2)+KIP DEVILLE+ GET FUNKY(14/1)= 539-1
STREET BOSS+W'THESCRIPT+ GET FUNKY= 741-1
STREET BOSS+GOLDIKOVA+ GET FUNKY= 370-1

FIRST DEFENCE(12/1)+KIP DEVILLE + GET FUNKY=1559-1
FIRST DEFENCE+W'THESCRIPT+ GET FUNKY=2144-1
FIRST DEFENCE+GOLDIKOVA+ GET FUNKY=1071-1

At some point MAYBE TRACKS will get a CLUE and start offering FREE PPS for their races. Until that happens, we'll let the trainers (and breeders) do the job for them since they have MORE money.

Phil, I agree 100% with Skipadate, he's looking more and more like my best bet of the weekend.

She's run well on 2 different synthetic surfaces and should get plenty of pace to run at. What am i missing? Are you sure you are thinking of the right horse?

You only missed the fact she's working particularly well on the Pro-Ride. To me, both Intagaroo n' Ventura have a huge chance to win it. Seems like, every time I think something like that in the B.C., the chalk draws off to win easily.

Great point, I loved Carriage Trail's Spinster, but I still think Zenyatta will be too much for this group.

letswastemoney 10-22-2008 09:35 PM

Zenyatta has only faced 1 or 2 good horses a race in each of her wins. She's never faced 4 or 5 good horses at the same time. It will be a test for sure....

Zenyatta is the Big Brown of the girls it sounds like.

Well yeah. It's easy to have an off day. Ginger Punch is better than what she showed at Oaklawn. Hystericalady is a few lengths slower on synth. Who else has she beat....Model? Romance is Diane? Tough Tiz's Sis? Tough Tiz's Sis did win by a lot in her next race, but then again she could have just freaked in the slop.

letswastemoney 10-22-2008 10:02 PM

With Music Note, Carriage Trail, and Cocoa Beach in there, I get the feeling at least one of them will come up with their best race ever.

Would Zenyatta have smoked Eight Belles? My opinion is it would have been very close.

Yeah, that's the horse all right. Her loss to Diamond Diva was one of those all time great pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory you'll ever see.

I think she's overrated, but does manage to make noise every race. I think there are some fillies in here that are much better than what she's faced sprinting before, so I just don't see her winning.

I will preface all that though and say I'm terrible with synthetic form. Also, watching synthetic races, I feel like I still cannot get a handle on what I'm seeing.

Dude, you make pg1985 sound like the love child of DrugS and Julie Krone.

I'm not even sure what I mean by that, but man.

No doubt Zenyatta has a GREAT record in 2008. Do you think if Curlin gets beat, then Zenyatta wins HOY?

The only unknown in the race is if Music Note moves up on this track, if she does she might make a race of it.

What a pathetic person you are. When you lose somebody you love to cancer (in my case pancreatic which is about the worst), and watch them deteriorate, there is nothing remotely funny about that.

Would this be an inappropriate time to mention that my Dad died on BC day last year....from cancer?
