1. I agree with your comment on Oxbow
2. More importantly, your Avatar reminds me that there is a Duck Dynasty marathon on...Need a break from looking at this stuff.

um........
i'd spend my time looking elsewhere. he 'looked uncomfortable' according to what i read earlier about his time on track today-and i guess he's been looking that way for a bit.

Gary Young

Monday, April 29

Oxbow
My splits: 11-4/5, 23-2/5, 35-1/5, 59-4/5, gallop-out in 1:14-4/5
The Lecomte winner had Gary Stevens up for his work. He warmed up slightly stiff and then showed some zip leaving the pole. Good-looking colt finished fair, but did not gallop out that well.

i think it was the clockers report on drf that said he didn't look comfortable....

Revolutionary, Overanalyze towards Belmont and will consider Dreaming of Julia and Unlmited Budget for it as well (!)..

Will Take Charge, Oxbow to Preakness.. Goldencents too..

Golden Soul will wait for Belmont..

i'd have thought dwl would take oxbow to md, and hold wtc til belmont...
but what do i know?

Sightseek 05-05-2013 09:11 AM

Both Lukas horses ran outstanding races. Unfortunate that Will Take Charge got stopped so badly. The overhead view really shows how well he was rolling.

Kasept 05-05-2013 10:20 AM

More Preakness intentions.

Departing a go per Stall.. Bellarmine (McPeek) possible..

Umm, they will both go to both races unless they are injured.

Kasept 05-05-2013 12:50 PM

Itsmyluckyday and Mylute considering Preakness.. Seem in 50/50 range.

Trainer talked about the Travers being the long range goal.

I was more wondering about short term goals. Long term goals in racing are a joke.

This sport sucks more by the day.

You've got to give Doug O'Neill credit for being game.

He gets beat more than 50 lengths with Goldencents and the 3yo division has fallen apart back home in California... and he's not even hesitating about wheeling back to run in the Preakness.

pweizer 05-05-2013 05:05 PM

I never thought Goldencents looked comfortable yesterday. The race was a total toss for me. I don't know if anyone is beating Orb in Baltimore, but if I were to try, he is the one I would use.

He was my biggest payoff in the pick 4, so i was focused on him from the start. He was done after at the wire the first time. His action was horrible. Toss out race for me too. I'm glad he was beat off a long way and wrapped up on...

Hmm.. Brown reconsiders, per Dave Grening:

Chad on Normandy: "I said I wouldn’t run in the Preakness but I’m going to back off of that & really observe the horse and let him tell me."
