Hell i was impressed how fly down did in first attempt against older. As for you people still bashing zenyatta, are you kidding me! Shes won 19 RACES IN A ROW! I don't care who you are that is impressive! She's amazing and it seems like she like to toy with the horses up until the last moment and then kicks in and goodbye! One more race to go! In my book, Zenyatta is tied for the best ever. I say if she retires now, she can go down as tied for the best ever.

If she runs in the BCC and loses (I think she'll lose), she gets dropped from the all time great list, since the other horse that won 19 in a row never lost.

If you did anything on this board other than follow me around Jets/Pats threads in the sports forum, you'd know I've been saying pretty much all year she's a likely winner if she goes in the Classic. I've been highly critical of her campaigns and her competition, not of her ability. Show me the post where I said Rail Trip is better than her. From now on, try only making an ass of yourself in one forum.

Oh, and I'm rooting for the meteor on Monday, but Brandon Marshall is gonna light up that Pop Warner secondary.

After watching today's races, I find it even less likely Z, the big mare, wins the BCC.

Switch could have very easily have won today had she not got dumb late.

I really don't know if she can win it but if she does it will prove conclusively that the synthetic surfaces are a hindrance to her rather than an asset.

i'm not. she will be short. but nebrady is right. only its not a bandwagon when you've won 19 in a row. back to the point of the thread. the article was dumb....what was the purpose? i've been following racing for over 30 years and there have not been many like this horse. that whole rachel vs zenyatta thing was BAD for racing. people are still BITTER. here the game has hardly any big stars and people waste that fighting over who is better. i'm so glad i worry about my bets and put energy into that. they are/were both really, really nice horses(historic). that did things most horses could not even attempt. why trash either one? is it really productive?

The only way Zenyatta loses her next race is if Arguabley runs and I havent seen him, but every body says that "Arguabley is the best race horse on dirt".

Surely, even her most ardent fans would agree that padding stats in the name of keeping "the streak" alive was a whole lot more important to the Zencamp than making history the old fashioned way and leaving no doubts. If you are truly a fan, as I consider myself, I think she was robbed in that sense.

The problem I have with Beyer's article is that his agenda is clear and it takes away from some really good points that he makes. A "curiosity"? Come on.

Zenyatta's detractors should admit that at times they can be just as ridiculous about denigrating the mare's relative merits as her supporters are about pumping them up. There are some big holes in her resume in regards to her being one of the best of all time. AGREED. But a "curiosity" that owes much of her success to polytrack?

As big a fan as I am of her, I tend to agree with this statement. Whether Smith moves too early on her, or one of the other entries step up and run a huge race, I think that the storybook ending doesn't go as planned.

I hate to sound like pg/rht85hrfan, but i REALLY DID have a dream last week that Tessitore or whoever it is that does the post-race commentating on tv was upset about the outcome and was melancholy in his explanation of the stretch-drive replay. Pretty f'kn vivid, and I'll be betting the race accordingly. :o

What's kind of amusing - is that all of Zenyatta's Beyer figures this year have been unquestionably inflated.

I'm not talking 1 or 2 points - more like 4 to 8. You've got races where everything behind her is running a new lifetime top and thats what it takes to get her to 100.

I forgot that " Unquestionably " could come up big also. I haven't seen him run, but I hear that " Unquestionably is the best horse.

Unquestionably and Arguabley are the only one's that Zenyatta has to fear all the rest have to come and get her in the Classic. OOOHHHH on dirt, the only surface that she wins with day light between her rivals.

Beyer's has tried to beat her every way he can and even yesterday he was at Hollywood Park and failed again.

Right and big f*ing deal if he's wrong. It happens.

To be more accurate the entire field in the Santa Margarita ran a new beyer top except for the last place finisher and Switch ran a new top. Other than that no horse she has run against has been given a top lifetime figure.
