Spent a wonderful evening with Blood-Horse folks at a dinner last night, enjoying the company of Steve Haskin, Vic Zast, Dan Liebman, Dick Downey and the legendary Bill Nack. Nack will be seeing the final cut version next week of the Ruffian film that was made based on his book. Conversation was BC heavy of course, and several interesting tidbits came out then and this morning on the backside... Here our some late notes about horses that look to run well "according to sources"... Also, our P4 suggestions...

... TODD PLETCHER: Not to belabor the obvious, but Team Todd believes they are in for a BIG day. You may want to try and cover the Pletcher runners somehow in either the individual race bets or at least the multis.

...TRACK CONDITION: Just watched Butch Lehr's crew roll and scrape the track from the inside out to the middle... Depending on how much water it gets, the track could be quite quick with the inside sweet. Watch the Very Subtle (6f) and Ack Ack (1m) VERY CAREFULLY to see how good the inside is and how well speed carries...

... JUVY FILLS: DREAMING OF ANNA..Word seems to be that this one is "special". She is being made "the bet" by a lot of savvy players around here. BEL AIR BEAUTY appears ready as well, and Hooves heard from the Jock's room that Victor Espinoza likes SHE'S INCLUDED most of his mounts today..

... F&M TURF: I'm not crazy about her, but apparently HONEY RYDER has trained up great and looks superb. Pletcher 1-2? 1-3? Note too that GERMANCE gets a + jock switch to Soumillion...

... MILE: Increasingly believe this is the most difficult call of the day... Word came out last night that LIBRETTIST shouldn't be ignored as the last is a toss. AD VALOREM gets Jamie Spencer back and will save all the ground.

... DISTAFF: Phipps family is said to be super confident, unusually so, about PINE ISLAND today...

... VERY SUBTLE (CD 1st): In the day's opener, take a look at #5 MARYFIELD.. 8-1 and shoulod run well...

If you haven't figured it out by now, the above information is the key to at least theearly part of the day...

Getting to the paint has been the key to the day so far.. Take advantage..

Pegasus Wind becomes a threat in this upcoming Juvy if he isn't too hard used getting position.. Otherwise, the inside posts colts all are forward types.
