flips and gets trapped under neath. hope that filly is doing okay, she was not in a good spot. But like you said, not what needed to be seen 3 weeks after Barbaro's breakdown.

I had a Mare that was in training at Santa Anita and she would flip from time to time when you put the saddle on. Real spooky for the horse and all that are near.

Sounds like she is ok. Bushfire sure was a tough horse.

tense and scary--but once more any of the casual fans get to see that horses aren't shot on sight after having some kind of accident. not a bad thing at all, i don't feel.
baileys going over the gate later was a good thing.
so was goldberg (gimme a sec to swallow this twinkie) when he talked about closers not necessarily making a longer distance. lol talk about irony tho that jazil wins it after.....
a lovely, lovely afternoon.
congrats to all the winners. that turf race by cacique, english channel et al will be HARD to beat all year. here's hoping the bc turf is as competitive.

That really scared me. i'm glad they decided to scratch Wonder Lady Anne L, too. After what happened three weeks ago I'm happy they decided to take no chances and let her run. I can't imagine how scared that jockey was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd have to change my underware for sure!!!!!

I use to have to change the boss's underwear sometimes. He use to say "bruce! get in here!" and I knew what that meant.

Goldberg is now heading for that bag of Doritos...
I think it is good for people to see that they take the horses best interests in mind, like when the 6 flipped in the gate in the Acorn, and as you say, wasnt shot. It is odd that racing has that stigma, seeing as the animals are pandered and given many amentities. It's not greyhound racing or anything, where who really knows what goes on behind the scenes.
Great day all in all.

thankfully i am encountering more fans, and less people i have to defend the sport to. many are coming to understand just how well treated these horses are--for the most part. yes, there are bad apples. but they exist EVERYWHERE.
