With the Breeders Cup rapidly approaching, it seems desirable to cover as many major stakes races as possible in our weekly contests. This Saturday our hard working scorer has kindly agreed to have us include races from two different tracks for the second week in a row, but this time they will be all in the same time zone and be listed all in a single thread.

We will be covering the following races:

From Belmont:
Champagne S. (Grade 1)
Flower Bowl (Grade 1)
Frizette S. (Grade 1)
Jockey Club Gold Cup (Grade 1)
Kelso H. (Grade 2)

From Keeneland:
Claiborne Breeders' Futurity (Grade 1)
First Lady S. (Grade 1)
Shadwell Turf Mile (Grade 1)
Thoroughbred Club of America S. (Grade 2)
Woodford Presented by Keeneland Select (Grade 3)

Race order and entry deadline will be listed once entries are available.

An article in The Bloodhorse listed the following probable entrants for Saturday's Keeneland stakes races as part of their Fall Stars Weekend.


$1 million Shadwell Turf Mile (gr. IT, Win and You're In Mile Division): Probables are Dutch Connection, Grand Arch, Grand Tito, Heart to Heart, Jack Milton, Kelinni, King Kreesa, Seek Again, Smarty's Echo, The Pizza Man, and War Envoy.

$500,000 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity (gr. I, Win and You're In Juvenile Division): Probables are Brody's Cause, Exaggerator, Gametown, Hawkbill, Sticksstatelydude, Threefiveindian, Uncle Jerry, and Uncle Vinny. Possible starters are Discreetness, Mt Veeder, and Wild Man.

$400,000 First Lady Stakes (gr. IT): Probables are Crowley's Law, Easter, Jealous Cat, Kiss Moon, Outstanding, She's Not Here, Solid Appeal, and Tepin. Possible starters are Filimbi and Tango Time.

$250,000 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (gr. II, Win and You're In Filly and Mare Sprint Division): Probables are Brown Eyed Mary, Fioretti, Judy the Beauty, Leigh Court, Spelling Again, and Sweet Whiskey. Uzziel is possible for the race.

$150,000 Woodford Stakes presented by Keeneland Select (gr. IIIT): Probables are Billy Two Hats, Bobby's Kitten, Cyclogenisis, Hogy, Holy Lute, Marchman, Mongolian Saturday, Obsidian Splendor, Something Extra, Stacked Deck, Summation Time, Sylven Park, and The Great War. Possible starters are Channel Marker and Pure Sensation.

Entries should be available in the next day or so.

Since we went east to west last weekend I knew we were going to go north to south on Saturday. Funny thing is I was guessing Joly would go with Kamloops and Hippodromo La Plata.

Just to confirm to all - the Hill Prince is not one of our contest races. Everyone's appetite is bound to differ, but I just thought that 10 major stakes races would be enough both for our handicappers and our hard working scorers.
