also, considering what the meadowlands went through this year we are fortunate to have the hambletonian.Actually, the real reason that the finals are run during the day is that it is a requirement of the Hambletonian Society. The Hambletonian itself will exist long after the Meadowlands; remember that this race is not "owned" by the racetrack and is hosted through a contractual agreement with the Hambletonian Society.
