I noticed this one while handicapping Saturday's washout at Gulfstream. The race that put's him on the list was the 11th at GP, March 27. In that race, he was getting a very good ground saving trip up until the top of the stretch, when things shut off completely, never giving him an opportunity to run the entire stretch. So this is one of those good trip/bad trip in the same race kind of deals. It appeared to me he was locked and loaded at the top of the stretch, and would have won easily had things opened up, but this of course is just my opinion. Hopefully Pletcher finds a spot for him this week.

Back in the 4th at Monmouth on Saturday, 2-1 ML. Off for 2 months since scratching out of the GP race, and didn't even work until relatively recently. While the trouble he had in his last race is legitimate, not sure if this is a good spot to play him or not.

After capping the race, it's pretty simple. If he's right, he wins by a pole. Problem is, there are a few reasons to think he may not be right. It's been 81 days since his last race, 2 months since he was last entered, and his works leading to this are unimpressive to say the least.:zz:

Post script: Went off even money, won by a length and a half, albeit with a perfect ride/trip. Was claimed by Calabrese.

For what it's worth, returns today 1st time Calabrese/Canani, in Monmouth's 7th, for a $30K tag. Edit: needless to say, didn't race due to the canecellation.

Tries again today in the 8th race at Monmouth.

Very sad to write the horse broke down early stretch. He was also claimed today.
