Thursday was perhaps the oddest wagering day of the meet... Many, many punters had the same kind of afternoon as I did: hit 'em big and then whiff entirely. The day started great with the straight exacta and associated exotics all available in the 1st before ignoring Oden's Tale in the 2nd. Came back with on top Kauai Calls and the chalky exacta in the short field 3rd and the tri box in the 4th before blanking the 5th. The tri in the Dynasty (6th) was nice, but that was the end of the scores on the day... Very strange day as so many people were walking around having the same kind of on-off success/failure...
Friday introduces the twilight card concept to Saratoga, and I'll admit it's been nice to take a leisurely approach to the morning. Hope for the best weather-wise Sat-Mon as the racing shapes up beautifully with the Woodward-Forego featured tomorrow, followed by the Spinaway and Hopeful cards Sunday and Labor Day Monday...
