Oracle has stated many times that horses run best 3rd in their Form Cycle, just looking at the Belmont horses, here is where they are in their Form Cycles. I used a new form cycle as defined by the black line signaling a layoff in the DRF and after every 3 races a new form cycle begins:

BGC= 2nd start in a 2nd Form Cycle

BandJ=3rd start in a 3rd Form Cycle

DG=3rd start in a 2nd Form Cycle

HK=3rd start in a 2nd Form Cycle

HF=3rd start in a 2nd Form Cycle

Ja=2nd start in a 2nd Form Cycle

Oh So Awesome=????

PC=2nd start in a 4th Form Cycle

SL=2nd start in a 2nd Form Cycle

SW=1st start in a 4th Form Cycle

Sun=2nd start in 1st Form Cycle

Am I looking at this right Oracle?

Is that how you define Form Cycle every 3 races or is this too simplistic?

The 3rd start in the form cycle is not a given at all, especially with the training methods used now as opposed to the past. There are guys who have them better than ever right off the bench and actually see a regression in the next start. I wouldn't worry about it.

form cycles are defined by races off alayoff which i define as 60 days or more. go back and recrunch.

Using 60 days:

BGC: 5th race in Form Cycle
BandJ: 9th race in Form Cycle
DG: 6th race in Form Cycle
HF:6th race in Form Cycle
PC:11th race in Form Cycle
SL: 6th race in Form Cycle
SW:10th race in Form Cycle

Almost 60 days:
HK: 6th race in Form Cycle
Jazil: 5th race in Form Cycle
Sunriver: 2nd race in Form Cycle

My guess is it's going to take a 1 on Thorograph to win this:
BandJ=Been going a long time
BGC=should be right on
DG=should be right on
SW=always fires 2's

Horses that I won't know what they last ran until Thursday:
HK
Sunriver
High Finance

This Belmont contains quite a few horses I supect are "over the top" in their form cycles. Fact is that many have been in training continuously with no breaks for over 6 months, some longer. I don't think you are gonna as many step forward saturday, as you do step backwards.
