Going to bet a lot on Soldat, who has to go off higher than 6-1, right?

I will help you out with that. Leaning Heavily on Chad's horse.

Why? I wont be betting, but Howard for months now can only talk about how good his guy will be when he gets to go longer. Not sure if he is a turf horse though.

As I've posted before, I think War Front is going to be an excellent turf sire. Soldat has run ok--but far from great--on the dirt and I think he'll move up significantly on the grass. The trainer stats are good too. Lou Brissie is a nice enough horse and I like and respect Neil Howard, but why would anything he has said about one contender scare me away from betting another?

I did not mean it to scare you off, I was just saying.. I dont like Lou Brissie I LOVE A HORSE IN THIS RACE.

Why would anyone bet a 1st time turfer/stretchout on these turf courses? Does playing this horse come with a guarantee that it'll be the only speed and get to set slow fractions, with the rest of the jocks taking back, on a course that will continue to favor speed? Or that, otherwise, it'll get a stretch rail run while its competition will take the overland route?

Don't worry. . . you didn't scare me.

This is barely more than a glorified maiden race. I know you're uninterested in considering anything other than trips, but that limits the number of horses you can look at. This horse is a very strong play based on pedigree and trainer.

I'm not adverse to playing pedigree or trainer angles. The point here is the courses. They're playing to speed and the jocks are not riding them that way. It's getting tiring watching horses setting slow fractions. It's getting more tiring watching horses that can't get a distance (because they're sprinters or just not good enough) do so with this bias. And even more tiring, still, is watching jocks let slow pace setters have their way early.

If you think this horse will go to the lead and not get pressed (notice, the former goes not imply the latter during this meet) then play him. But the bias adds to your assumptions.

SHUG IS EASY. That pace he was on last time was insane. The other 2 pushing him including the chalk finished well back. Shug Shug Shug.... The barn is rolling now. If he wins this, he can be GOAT 1D

I wouldn't mind being on the lead. . . at the very least I know I'll be close.

Something like this. . .

You're giving me an example from Juan Vasquez at DEL? Kiaran has strong stuff but it's nothing compared to what Vasquez has; and has been doing during the DEL meet. The dude's leading trainer over there and when his horses take any money (and even if they don't, relatively) they're MONEY. Lake with a frontrunner (even a horse that's shown 2 turn speed and is cutting back to as short as 5F) and Vasquez under just about any condition are auto bets over there.

BTW, the DEL turf course is about as fair as it gets.

The horse--also a War Front--moved up BIG TIME on the turf.

Did ok, but it could've been better. Considered playing a PK3 in R6 - 1,3,4 w/ ALL w/ 9, but decided it was frivolous.
