I thought off his races at Gulfstream that Afleet Express would be at his best around two turns.
Not sure he'll top his last race at 7f, but seems to have the most upside here as all the rest have shown a distinct ceiling to their abilities.

I think Afleet Express is going to win this race by a very, very large margin. Afleet Again and Nacho Friend are who I'll use for 2nd.

I really like Jackson Bend against this field at 8.5 furlongs. Wonder how low the price will be.

Agreed - I wonder if they go crazy on Jackson Bend and at least keep AA's price somewhat reasonable. I would consider a VERY large win bet at 3/2+ and I very rarely bet horses below 8-1.

I really hope they plow it in on Jackson Bend as well. All things considered, you're talking about a horse who's 0-fer against top company and this is a relatively quick comeback from two tough races with only one workout.

Wasn't Afleet express Beyer from his last win first released as like a 115?

I know it's only 6 horses, but this is a nice little field for a G3 this close to the end of the TC.

Yes, sir and it's been beaten down ever since. From a pace standpoint I think he lays over this field and that this will be his 1st step towards becoming a serious 2nd half 3YO. Considering we've been beating up all the TC horses it just seems foolish to back Jackson Bend in here at what will definitely be an underlaid price to me.

It's clearly benefitting from NYRA's decision not to run the race that was formerly called the Dwyer in early July. This is really now the lone East Coast race to get horses ready for the Haskell/Jim Dandy.

I doubt it. I think AA is 4-5, 1-1 at post time. People cant be this stupid to bet JB hard against him.

After looking at PP's I agree and amend my pick. I'll try to beat Afleet Express with Schoolyard Dreams and Afleet Again.

Who else in here isn't o-fer against top company?

Precisely, that's why a fresh face should be infinitely more appealing than an underlaid favorite who hasn't beaten open company this year.

This race screams "pass""
On the other hand, the 11th is an excellent race, with Rose Catherine(5-2), plus an AE entry of Daily candy

As I do not use PPs for races such as this I will POUND JB over the 2 and 6 and let the chips fall where they may.

I'm looking at Nacho Friend in this race. We was 5 lengths behind a 1:14 pace the last time. Jockey switch and a some quicker fractions puts him in the top 2 mix.

He ran a nice race actually. Pace killed him and he was only a few lengths back at the finish

I thought it was bizarre to see Jackson Bend and Schoolyard Dreams both fold like a cheap tent after those fractions.
But people are saying the Monmouth track is different this year. So maybe it wasn't as slow as it appears?

I ended up not having the money to drop what I wanted to because of a bad night in AC last night and I had a friend who was willing to put up A LOT of money for the win bet, but the potential backlash if I was wrong was too much to stomach, so I had to get creative. I ended up putting everything I had left in my account on the 6-5 exacta. (Redboard alert). . .

I am prepared to accept anything anyone wants to say. The way JB folded doesn't bold well for his future. PPs would not have predicted that, let alone the second Afleet getting second.

You don't need PP's to know not to bet a slow Derby/Preakness horse at 9-to-10.
