Hopefully, those familiar with my work can sense when I'm not thrilled with the prospects for an afternoon of racing. Wednesday was one of those days, and the result was a card chock full o' nuttin'. Winners were among the selections, but whether it was a scratch here or a dark horse there, absolutely nothing went right.

On a personal wagering front, the two places I tried to find the prime plays I thought might be available, went awry. Indian Hawke was allowed to set a dawdling pace in the Albany to wire the field, (I keyed pal Joe Gioia's Shuffling Maddnes), and Javy Castellano worked out a great trip on Mach Three from the #10 hole in the 7th (I keyed him second)...

Thursday features a $68,000 P6 carryover, but you'll have to spread wide to catch it with several impossible events dotting the sextet. Rain threatens the Spa as well, so there's no telling how the day unfolds as of this writing... In the meantime, PJ Campo drew Saturday's Travers Day card, and it's just terrific with the four features looking great and the undercard just as appealing as the stakes. Weather may be a factor Saturday unfortunately, with t-storms a distinct possibility. But a huge crowd is expected to see Bernardini with as many as 70,000 anticipated... Keep your fingers crossed.
