Note -- Well Armed was going to go in the Mile. I am not sure if the defection of Big Brown will have anything to do with that. Personally, I wouldn't think so. The same applies to if Curlin didn't enter.

Yeah, we really needed this race in the BC. Steven H. Crist, to think that one of those plugs is going to be a Breeders' Cup winner.

now this is really a silly group.:mad::( *dumb trainers/owners*
I know this is only 500K but;

12 furlongs on a synthetic track!!! Where the HECK are all the 11furlong turf horses?? This is supposed to be filled with horses that were somewhat competitive on Sworddancer and Arlington Million days. and 7 entries in one of bc races most up for grabs?? Missed opportunity to have your Grade 2 11furlong turf horse place in a 500k race on BC day. I think they will catch on by 2009. Missed betting opportunity in some ways as well.

Steve -- do you know what the deal is with Lewis Michael maybe being pointed to the sprint, but not to the dirt mile?

Seems like another shot in the latter would suit him better this year.

Because the race that he won was Win and your IN for the BC Sprint, but they want to go in the Dirt Mile....

Recognize that Delosvientos, Evening Attire and Phil the Power ALL were possibles here but ended up hurt, retired, and elsewhere. There will be a number of other added to this field I'm sure.

Monzante in the 'dirt' mile?

Why not run Indyanne in the classic?

Odd placement if you ask me!

Fatal Bullet – Didn't look great in his work on the Pro-R. He is never asked for much in works though. Seemed to struggle early, and do better late. Didn't seem thrilled with surface, but who knows.

Black Seventeen- Nothing to give in the work on Pro-R.

M-Lute- Great Mover on PRO-R....Always works good though.

This is from the Racing Post:

Tony Elves

"SIXTIES ICON galloped at Lingfield on Friday in preparation for his tilt at the Breeders' Cup Marathon on Saturday and will leave Newmarket on Sunday for Santa Anita.

"The Galileo horse has won four of his five starts this season and gained his latest win in fine style, when beating Sugar Ray by two and a quarter lengths in the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot last month.

"Sixties Icon worked over 1m in company with Whistledownwind and quickened up nicely in the closing stages.
Trainer Jeremy Noseda said: "I was very happy with Sixties Icon. He took the left-handed turns really well and seems in good form."

Sixties Icon won the classic St. Leger at 14f a couple of years ago and is a genuine 12f+ animal. If he takes to the Pro-ride, he will be ultra-dangerous.

Take a very bad wine.
Then add water.
And Presto...

I also caught that comment from Mike Welsch, he's one of their more respected handicappers in my opinion. Something to think about if you were high on FB.

Well, he looked great on the poly last time(no doubt.) Problem is:

1) Ran poorly on dirt in New YORK, and then returned to winning ways on the Poly.

2) Ran poorly on turf. So, the only good races are on poly(I think, LOL.)

3) Hasn't looked like he enjoys the Pro-Ride in the a.m. The trainer gave out a myriad of excuses today for the way he has looked lately on this surface. Says he wakes up when the blinks go on etc. The trainer admitted to attending every Breeders Cup so far(as a fan.) So, I think this is a dream come true for him(to make it to the B.C. with a horse.) Won't stun me if he wins, because you can't rule a horse out just by a couple works. I think you should atleast look like you like the surface (but we will see.) I think the guy shows chickens. I am not making a joke. I guess some people breed chickens to "show."
