We've talked about it quite a bit the first half of the year, but in compiling some of the Beyers from the weekend, it stands out on the 'Best BSF' list how strong the fillies are this year compared to the boys.. 5 of the top 9 performances by sophs have been by the gals! (Note though that there is only 1 route-going fig earner on the top 3yo fig list -- Zaftig -- and of course that was the one-turner Acorn at BEL.. The other 5 girls on the list earned these top BSF's at 6-7f.)

Zaftig (f) BEL 07 Jun 1M 113
Motovato CRC 25 Apr 7F 111
Big Brown CD 03 May 1 1/4M 109

Indyanne was just awesome.

She easily shrugged off her pace rival after an opening quarter in 21 1/5 (clearly fastest opening quarter on entire Summit of Speed card) and stayed on well enough to win by 9+ lengths in final time faster than Benny The Bull's to earn a 108 Beyer.

It's been a while since there have been as many exciting 3yo filly sprinter/miler types as there are now.

Yeah, and can you imagine what it will be like in a few years from now, now that Indian Charlie is getting mares that aren't fit to even be bred?

No routers though, just sprinters.
