Thursday Aqueduct P6 and P4 tries were upended with 2nds in the 6th and 8th, but the rest of the day was outstanding capped by the day-making trifecta in the nightcap which was offered out 'straight'. How Del Carroll and Pont St. Stables' Key Victory was allowed to go off at 46-1 is a mystery, as he appeared to me the next most logical win candidate past the overdue and obvious winner. His $23.40 place price tripped the $603.00 ($2) triple when he passed After Colin (16-1, $7.20) in deep stretch.

Earlier in the 7th, Carlos Martin's Aunt Marge ($12.60), who I saw as a P6 single but the public embraced only modestly, started another nice triple crushing the Karakorum entry (3-2 fave) behind her with Schwartz' Sounds Tacky (11-1) third. The tri came back $144.00 ($2), and this was a spot where not offering superfectas everywhere they could be offered, hurts... Inclusion Ommadon's Storm was 4th, (for wagering purposes), at 43-1, and the payoff would have been enormous. The NYS Racing and Wagering Board refuses to allow NYRA to offer supers on all races that 'qualify' for them, and it just continues to boggle the mind as to why.

Hope you did well Thursday!

Keeneland starts its' three week Spring Meet today, and though the weather is expected to be nasty, it's always great to have KEE back in the PP's... Expect al grass races to be switched to the 'all-weather'...

Quick question, will the G3 race today that has been taken off the turf count towards Graded stakes earning? or does the race lose the graded status because of the surface switch???

Pretty sure it loses it's grade.

Pretty sure it loses it's grade.

That is what I thought, but I am not 100%....Because if it doesn't, this worked out perfect for Barrier Reef. Maybe the Shiek has the greatest weather predictor ever and this was all part of his plan

Not necessarily... they "regrade" it after seeing who scratches and stays in. My guess is it will NOT lose it's grade, as they've been kind in the past on turf-to-poly if the main contenders stay in (such as last year's Jenny Wiley).

Then the Shiek has the greatest weather predictor of all time. Even better then 'da Skill' who is better known as Tom Skilling.

i played the late pick 3 and 4... i disagree strongly with your plays.... here goes my 2 bets....

Race # 7 $1 pick 4 wheel

# 5 Impressionism is a single in my opinion. i feel strong that she improves tons this year,

in the 8th i went 4 deep 2,3,5,8

in the 9th i used the 2 mott horses, i think they can control this race and run 1-2 either way

in the 10th i love The Darp, but i also used Talk of a Cat,

2 plays $16 dollers each, played the same pick 3 just incase my 5 does not with the 7th

good luck

why does it matter ? the horse is well bred for turf.

lets say it stayed on the turf, he runs big...
they could still sneak into the derby.
not that it matters anyway, because the mott horses are just better

PG - What happened to your derby horse? 26 and 51 too fast for him?
