How can "professionals" miss so many calls at 1st base? There was 1 blown in your game last night, and atleast 2 blown between the Angels n' D Rays(over the weekend.)Saw a really severe one in a Dodger game a couple weeks ago.

Scuds its the angle from which they view the play. Last nights Yankee call from the first replay had the announcers fooled as well. Looked as if he tied the throw, and that angle was the ump had. 2nd angle from behind showed a different view and obviously a blown call. At first base more than one call has been blown(and always will be) when the 2nd baseman is throwing from deep in the hole. Ball approaches at a different angle to the umps vantage point(not just straight in like when the throw is coming from short or 3rd) and its harder to make a closer call. You will notice they almost never blow a play at first when the throw is coming from short or 3rd.
