you can't go wrong with the Bellagio's sportsbook. I was there last year for the BC and it was wild, but seats will be hard to come by unless you put enough action through.

Ballys has won me over....The whole Harrah's reward card thing is pretty serious, I never have to pay for another room again (Going November 26th through the 29th and March 15th through 18th, all free rooms)

Scav,
Thinking LV Hilton's race book, it has always been my favorite. Wondering if the books have ever installed self-bettors? I know the lines will be crazy, so it would be nice. I haven't been out there since I moved from Vegas in 98.

Bally has a limited amount of those on the far left side of the book. I have heard that ALL of the Palms TV's are self wagering terminals, I might go check it out when I am out there in November because I have never been to the place

I'll be there at Bally's race book same as the Derby and BC the last 5 years.

BC at Bally's is the best. This is a race and sports book but they close off all but 2 terminals to handle nothing but race bets. This leaves a long line of college football bettors stretching along the right wall in the morning while you walk right up and place your bets on the early races.

There is a path to the betting windows that avoids the line of college football bettors but I find a perverse satisfaction walking past them and the catcalls of "hey, there's a line!" just so I can throw back a "I'm betting on the races". I've done it even when I already had all my bets in just for the fun.

I know this doesn't make me a good person. But I can't help myself.

Those seats are reserved for BC and KD. The middle is first, come first serve. No problem with getting bets in at the windows as noted in my prior post.

Looks like 6 of us at either the LV Hilton or Bally's, be there by 7 AM. I'll holler CHROMER if I'm there, would be good to meet you.
Good luck to you all, somebody make a big score!

MinnSkin-

I'll be at Bally's. Give a holler if you're there. I can't believe there are only 2 of us from this site going to Vegas.

Chromer I wish I had gone to Bally's, we chose the LV Hilton Race Book instead. Got there at 6:45 AM Saturday, and every seat was reserved for "casino guests". You would think anybody serious enough to get there 2 hours early would be able to get a spot. What BS, they have lost me forever.

They closed the book at Paris for construction and had all the seats reserved at Bally's. I was worried early on you would show up and I would have to explain this had never happened before.

Fortunatly, we were betting there Friday and met a guy who had 4 seats that was going to the Caesar's BC party. We sat at his seats. Great guy. Allegedly won $40,000 on the BC. I didn't see it but have no reason to doubt him and he earned enough with the seat giveaway that I hope it was true.

They set up seats in the bar and along the walkway (just seats and a table, no tv) above the book all marked "reserved for breeders cup". 100's of seats. My friends and I were looking around the book and realized we didn't need the courtesy we were shown the day before. It was 1/2 empty. Anyone who showed up and had the balls to sit at a seat with a TV had no problem.

All the money went elsewhere in Vegas. Which is why I still think BC and the Derby at Bally's is the best kept secret there.

See you in May.
