No clever opinion to offer in the first double carryover of the Super High 5 at Santa Anita tonight with nearly $300,000 available to start the pool on the increasingly popular nightcap headscratcher.. Obvious horses like favorite #5 Warren's Scooter (7-2), #9 Tracker Jack (9-2) and #14 Dee's Fling (5-1) SCR look to be the foundation to any play, and budget decisions will determine whether you key one or two and build, or try to merge an exacta box for the first two slots with a trifecta box for 3rd-5th.

Jorge Gutierrez' 'Scooter' exits a similar affair to today's undertaking, and retains Gomez after contesting the pace this trip in :45 and 1:09.1 before settling for the placement. Trader Jack invades from Ess Eff for Ed Moger off a quartet of pace-pressing three-quarter tries, the last three in MSW company. Dee's Fling should not be hurt by the outpost given the 5yo gelding's late-running style, and he should be fit for Jay Robbins and David Flores having contested a grass mile at HOL 12/5 and a $40k 8.5f try at Arcadia 1/11.

Beyond those three, #1 Heaven's Snow Chief (10-1), #2 Pace to Burn (10-1) and #4 High Investment (5-1) are all turnback players emerging from three separate routes, and of them, Gary Sherlock's High Investment is the most appealing as even a possible win candidate. Although he is an 11 time loser, this Yankee Victor gelding ran the best race of his career going one turn 12/5 at Hollywood, and returns to a sprint after a pair of route routs under Joel Rosario. Sherlock turns to Alonso Quinonez today, and though the price won't be big here, this tandem has averaged $20.00+ when successful overall, a $45.00+ at the Great Race Place. He was beaten 2L by a next out winner in that red hot December dash (1:08.0), and a return to that effort off a pair of good drills can get it done in this spot.

Heaven's Snow Chief and Pace to Burn are the other apparent inclusions, and heavy handed tickets might consider returnee #3 My Babu (10-1) and even sharp-working Van Berg firster #12 Nu Power Two (30-1) at the bottom of the challenging play.

1. #9 Tracker Jack
2. #4 High Investment
3. #14 SCR
4. #5 Warren's Scooter
5. #1 Heaven's Snow Chief
