Some nice races on the undercard, the 4th looks to be a wide open affair.

4th - OC 40k/N3X 1 1/8 Turf
We'll try to beat the probable chalk of the 8 - Doryphar with:

5 - Jeux de Danse - Hung in her last. Should be tighter after that effort and 3rd off the layoff.
4 - First Ascent - A couple of decent PmM turf works since her last troubled trip against the top choice. Centeno off/Dunkleberger off is a slight concern.
3 - Cut for Luck - Longshot kicker. Red hot, turf or dirt. Hasn't been played at Tampa, she paid $60+ and $46+ in her two wins so far this meet. paid $24.20

Agreed...Can only imagine it's a political deal...Motion 44% for the meet with the local colony, maybe he's grooming TD to be his got to guy at Lrl and Pim.....Odd choice either way - especially with Rosemary and JD Lopez watching it from the jocks room

Win and Place on the following spot plays at Tampa:

Race 2: # 2 Amazing - First time starter cost $145,000 at 2YO sale last spring. Can win first time out against a weak bunch of MSW.

Race 4: #5 Jeux de Danse - consistent turfer at Tampa.

Race 5: #13 AE Moonshine Alice - have liked this one since her debut and if she draws in she will be tough. SCRATCH - doesn't draw in

Race 7 - John's Song. Might get a bit of a price around 4-1 in this tough allowance field. Another consistent turfer.

Race 9 - Take The Ribbon 4-1. Tagg gets this Chester House mare from Dollase and if ready can take this one. SCRATCH - i guess not ready

Race 11 - Be Boppin Wynn. 3-1. Tired a bit on the turf but hopefully will get something out of the last to break the maiden race.

Good luck everyone,

PSH

I like Wise Answer and Z Humor a lot in the Sam Davis, and watch out for the improving Illinois horse exceeding expectations and hitting the board at a price.
Here is my $20 wager on that race:

$4 exacta box: 1/8 = $8
$1 trifecta: 1,8/1,7,8/1,4,5,7,8 = $12

Amazing how short peoples memories are. Lezcano used to ride circles around these guys at Tampa...especially on the turf..and they let him go off at 6-1.

That being said...I was one of the idiots that didn't bet him either. Me, being the professional stupid human that I am, for some God awful reason bet the wonderful Dean Butler aboard Green Lemon.

I like Vaulcluse here in the Suncoast but if they let Bennett/Centeno go off at 19-1 then I am jumping in.

Suncoast

All three favorites show no works or races over the Tampa surface and two of them are coming off sloppy track romps....one of them may win, but none will get my $$.

Gonna pass betting the race, but if I was forced to choose, I would take a flyer with Holy Helen.

She got the trip I wanted but just doesn't want to go that far. I couldn't pass up 25-1.

Yeah...don't get 25-1 on Bennet/Centeno at TBD.

Glad I passed betting the race. Holy Helen should be crossing the line any minute now...

If Corny is able to give her just the slightest bit of a breather on the front end...they wont catch her.

Agree that those two are obviously the logical top contenders right now.

In comparison. You're right, Z Humor definitely didn't flatter them, although he isn't much to begin with and he was a ridiculous favorite today. I don't really think Big Truck is much considering he hasn't run anything resembling a fast race. I'm also not sure Smooth Air wants to go 2 turns.

Off hand, do you remember what the time was in the Bertram back in September?

For what it's worth, he looked like death warmed over in the paddock - completely washed out...Almost to the point that I was contemplating leaving him off my late P3 ticket... not that it would have mattered anyway with a completely nonsensical 12-1 m/l horse getting bet down to 4-1 and taking the following leg.....Strange one today - great to see DOA in the Endeavor, but the Sam F. D. left a lot of questions
