Would have been especially difficult to hit P6/P4 at Big A Thursday considering that I missed draw-in of 9th race winner Mount Weather, but by that time the damage had been done anyway.. Two horse 5th race went the 'other' way as I Promise restored her juvy luster over Jet Setting, and Gullo got untracked with Avagadro topping the bad group of Empire maiden taggers in the 6th. The other three races in the sextet went well though as a trio of triples ($95; $35; $46) and availability of pair of P3's ($53; $55) kept the day's missteps to an acceptible minimum.

Action turns westward Thursday with fun P6 carry skien at Santa Anita..

Winds may be an issue today.I can just imagine the hill contest with gusts of wind(and the dreaded speed-extending cheater's rail up.)

Being inside in the hill race as Steve mentions for Liberian Fighter isn't necessarily a good thing, the outside(especially outside speed) is very good going down the hill. An old timer when I was in college told me this at the OTB down in Carbondale and of course I listened, but from what I have seen in the last 7 years, it holds true, that the outside, especially outside speed, holds well.

As far as that race is concerned, while I think Belafonte is the most likely winner, I think you should look closely at Mullin's horse, #5 Ten Meropa. I like that Bejarano is taking this mount and this horses lone turf work is pretty good. Should get a good closing trip and if Bejarano waits for all those horses to swing 6w like some do going down the hill, he might be able to shoot the rail with this one. Playable, especially if the horse takes some action early in the betting.

Really close. I'm surprised they didn't put up the photo.

I just saw it, I obviously believe it now, but it was more of the 'bob' if anything. Rosario continues to ride strong in So. Cal

A very serious bob....inch in front of wire and inch after he would have been bobbed....another good ride by Rosario though, continues to bring in these bombs. He loves to sit the rail and find a hole and explode through it, I haven't seen him on the lead though....
