Maryfield would be a fantastic start....

Wow, how did you find that???

That track is one of the worst i have ever seen. If the turf isn't soft the drainage must be the best in the world.

Maryfield would be a fantastic start....Great pick on that one. I am able to watch the races on the Breeders Cup website. The track looks awful, but Maryfield sure did close on the outside to get up. Nice little $1 super of over $6,700 on that one.

Real pissed at myself from a touting standpoint because I had the 2 on my thing and changed it to that rat Baroness Thatcher

If somebody is at the track please find a gun, give it to trevor denman and let him pull the trigger. Maryfield made a gigantic move and didnt get a call until she was under the wire. Something needs to be done about him.

I know I needn't play the "I wonder if you could do it better" angle -- but are you serious with this?

Missing Street Sense last year is one thing. Wasting time wringing your hands over the fact that he didn't have a super crisp call when nobody could see a GD thing until just outside the final sixteenth seems a bit over the top.

Then again, that is to be expected, I suppose.

Perhaps Maryfield was easy to find if Maryfield was the only horse you were following around the track. Cut the guy a break on trying to announce ten horses in the middle of a Jersey monsoon.

Too rational, I'm certain.

I do understand the monsoon factor but the move in itself was spectacular! you couldnt miss it and hes calling the horses on the rail. Anything outside the 3 path hes blind to.

I like him too, but with this surface this race has become a complete crapshoot I think.
Figuring out how they will run on a course that is a little wet and/or soft is one thing, but this bog makes it really tough to predict how 2yos will perform.

Here was my play in the BC Contest on here:

Juvy Turf
Cherokee Triangle
Achill Island
Nownownow
Strike the Deal

Put some good money on these races today to try to gain more for tomorrow, boxed those 4 for $1 in exacta and tri's. Thought Cherokee Triangle would run much better though.

going with Lewis Michael, and playing Discreet Cat underneath him in 2nd and 3rd with almost everyone else in the field.

I have always loved The Cat but I wouldnt take him here at 6/5. Horrible track, inside draw and who knows what to make of his Vosburgh race. I wouldnt be surprised to see him win, but if I had $20 to wager, I would look at Xchanger. We saw that horses can close in race 8 and I think this race sets up nicely for a come from behind horse like Xchanger.

No bet in this for me.

If the cat is anywhere close to his best form there will be only one winner, but that is a big if.

I'm also not sure how he will handle a sloppy track.

I do like Gottcha Gold.

Much also depends on which Corinithian turns up at the gig.

We can get 15/8 here about Discreet Cat.

I loved that one in the JF already tomorrow -- but her having a winner with her already gives me a little bit of extra confidence.

It makes me think the horse wouldn't be here tomorrow if she shouldn't be, after the other shipper with her wins on the East Coast vacation.

I got the tri in a contest, but not in reality :(

I think we can say that DC isn't the horse of old. Again there was nothing there when he was asked for his effort.

Gottcha Gold has ran a massive race to stay on for second after those fractions he set.

I've just seen something on the Thoroughbred Times where they aren't certain to be running on the turf tomorrow if it keeps raining (it is forecast to continue)

Well, you made me question myself on the Pick 6, and from the BC website...

The Breeders' Cup Ultra Pick 6 will have a $3 million guarantee on Breeders' Cup Saturday, but there will also be Pick 6 wagers offered on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday programs at Monmouth; and any carryover on Friday will be placed in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Ultra Pick 6

Nice little addition to the pool tomorrow...

Or have you already admitted that you are eurobounce somewhere and I missed it?
Actually, never mind, I couldn't care less either way.

I think we can say that DC isn't the horse of old. Again there was nothing there when he was asked for his effort.
)

The horse was pretty ill, according to what was published. An illness that lingered for a while, too. That can sap an animal's reserves in ways that don't show up until he is stringently tested. Sure he can work a fast 5f, but as we all know, a workout isn't a race.
