View Full Version : Spyder's Saratoga Pick of the Day

As mentioned I don't give out picks much cause rarely do I feel confident. I've given two Saratoga picks with one winning Sunday and one earlier in the meet that got nosed out at 20/1.

Well, here goes another live one I can't see losing:

Race 9: #1 - Cherokee Jewel (6/1)

Lightly raced filly making third start for the year. Has the Corn man up and is in third race of form cycle, only second time this has happened. Last, was almost exactly a year ago coming into Saratoga where the horse ran it's best lifetime race. Has been up against the likes of Wildcat Betty Bee and Leahas Secret and actually ran a very respectable 4th in the Victory Ride last year. Comes out of a good effort against Oprah Winney a few weeks back finishing strong after breaking thru the gate.

With alot of early speed, the 6 1/2 will be just what she needs and expect a good effort.

Enjoy,

Spyder

Opps, I did it again. You guys need to climb aboard the Spyder Train.

3 picks - 2 winners and a second by a nose!

Booya,

Spyder

PS: This post is not meant to allege that I actually usually win as I bet loosers all the time. But, I did post these picks!

I have to go to the OTB to bet 'tOGA until I get another online account. Cherokee Jewel paid $8.70, I was gonna' bet him over the weekend at big odds. Congrats to you who took the candy from the baby today, wish I had the foresight

This is the way to pick them, One horse (not 4 in the same race) to win. End of story.

Clearly an unhappy customer dissatisfied with the ungodly fees I charge for my Selection suggestions and membership here.. :D

Wow, that's fun winning races. Everyone loves me!

Anyway, thanks for the props.

As for the negative vibe from 2HOT, no way could I do that on every race like others unless I used at least 6 picks. I don't see how you guys do it.

I prefer the 4 horse pick method, cause I will do a $1 tri box with those 4 horses for a grand total of $24, and when they hit it is a good profit, sometimes even a great profit like the $1,000+ one I was giving.

Spydee's Spot Plays have been right on.

I guess I just don't get people. Steve's methods are clearly explained at the top of each selection page, yet ingrates still grouse.

On a high note, only 101 days until opening day at Tampa Bay Downs, where I'll be posting more than 4 picks per race (when I deem it is necessary). Which reminds me, I need to continue the campaign (that I started last year) for an early P4 at Tampa...

I am new to the forum, but have been following Steve's picks throughout the meet.

I appreciate the four horse selection method, since it gives individuals flexibility in wagering strategies... Keep up the good work Steve, I look for your selections each time I go to the track.

Welcome Rock. Don't be a stranger.

Viscount....GFY. I'll let you know who to contact at Tampa Bay Downs. I bugged a few people there late in the meet about the early P4 and was told it would be under consideration for the '07-'08 meet. I am going to follow up this week and find out who we can bug if it is not on the wagering menu yet.

Hope you enjoyed your cup of coffee at the top of the table...

Not at all, but I do respect the handicapper that puts out a single choice and not many do.

I'm with 2Hot... naming 4 horses - especially in a 6 or 7 horse field doesn't say anything. And I am not a dissatisfied customer. I never bet NYRA tracks without checking Kasept's piks and comments first.......

Spyder you put one horse out that I really thought would putz out.
You nailed it.
Then you put out two others in separate races and almost win with both of them.
You are doing something right, the horses you pick in the posts are ones you feel more comfortable with, and you have obviously bet on others also.

A little pride goes with the posting, so maybe you are looking carefully and being very selective. Man if you bet that way... Needless to say I will be observing other picks you make and looking at replays (time permitting) and try and learn something.

In a 6 or 7 horse race, he names three, and you have to realize how the selections are posted. 1 is the most value and 2 is the most likely winner, A and B are used as FILLERS for the exotics, which means 2nd and 3rd.
