This is a 12.5 maiden claimer at Calder worth looking at next out. Ran an even 5th in the 1st race on 8/5 after a four month layoff. I was interested to see how the horse ran in that race and had a small win bet at 30-1+. I expect the horse will run much better next time. On Sunday, Fayerweather showed much better speed than in its previous two starts and did not look especially tortured in the lane. He also took a bit of a bump at the start. The horse is trained by Larry Bates and his last race was at 7F. There's a race on 8/15 going two-turns and by then Calder will be back on a 5-day a week schedule and I would guess the field size to be 7-8 horses as opposed to the full fields the horse has seen in all three starts. I'm also hopeful to see a positive jock switch away from Laurie Gulas. I'm spending a lot of time looking at these bottom level maidens these days (maybe too much) and Fayerweather is as good as any betback I'm waiting for at what should be in the 6-8/1 range or so. While he has not done a ton of running, he has been passed by only one horse in his three starts and that was Show Me Money, the winning favorite on Sunday.

thanks bruce ..another mid-pack finish, hooves. But tomorrow 9/14, is another try. Back to 7F but bug girl off and had a rocky trip and I think he figures good tomorrow (yet again). One final desperate wager at 6-1+. Then I hope the hallucinations stop.
